Large ceramic bowl, hand made pottery bowl, stoneware bowl with added foot and handles; sgraffito and carving.
11 5/8" x 13" x 3 7/8"
**Base buff colored stoneware clay was altered to a surprisingly hot color by the addition of oxides. Hand built.
Exterior: slip painted in burgundy, then maroon. Randomized incised lines stained purple, then clear glazed.
Interior: engraved foliate pattern was slip painted in greens, than stained with additional greens and clear glazed.
**All my bowls are food safe unless otherwise noted. Signed and dated.
**I would recommend hand washing for any fine ceramic object. The detergent used in dishwashers etches glass and glazed items over time. If you really care about something - hand wash it.
